Stopping preventable blindness. Diabetes is common in our community; a regular eye exam is not. This lab works to close that gap.
This lab exists so that nobody in our community loses their sight to something that could have been caught in time.
Diabetic eye disease takes vision quietly, and by the time it is noticed the easiest treatment has usually passed. What stands between a family and that outcome is a single appointment that too many of them never reach. This lab works to bring that check to the people who are missing it, and to make sure that what it finds leads to real care.
It is the newest of our labs, established in 2026 alongside the Center, and it is building its team now.
This lab is setting up its first projects. Watch this space, or get in touch to be part of them.
If vision, diabetes care or access to health services is something you fund, we would be glad to show you what this lab is building and who it reaches.
We welcome eye care clinicians and vision researchers who want to reach patients who are not currently reaching them.
This is our newest lab, so there is real ground-floor work to take on. No prior research experience is required.
